About Me:

The Basic Stuff:
I live near Tulsa, Oklahoma with my wonderful wife Amy, a big mutt dog (Mr. Bungle) and a lil' boston terrier (Weezer). I drive a beat-up 1991 Nissan pickup, watch very little tv, am an outgoing goofball, but known to be a bit of a hermit.
I like to read, cook, mountain bike, go camping and hiking, play with my animals, play FPS games, collect odd lamps, watch documentaries on just about anything.
I'm a self-taught musician. I sing and play guitar & bass mostly, but I also play mandolin, banjo, piano, harmonica and drums. For recording sake, I basically try to be a one-man-band. Over the years I've played guitar, bass, drums and sang with several bands in and around Tulsa, Oklahoma. Past: played Guitar for - "Fashion Death", played guitar and sang with "Mellowdramatic Wallflowers", "Gus Witherspoon" (aka - Barking Spider), "Spiderberry Trio" & "Spin Cycle", played bass and sang with - "Flapjack Cancer Company" & "Lariat". Currently - I'm playing guitar and singing with "Sporkology" (multi-genre pop-rock) as well as doing my own solo acoustic shows simply as "Steven Paul" (mix of styles & genres) ... I suppose I'm a little musically schizophrenic ... I play everything from thrash metal to celtic folk and polkas to country to semi-hippy-alternative rock to punk to funk and jazz. Originals and covers. I just adore nusic ... period.
For the last few years I've mostly been writing/recording/playing solo. Mainly focusing on quirky, upbeat, semi-funky acoustic pop-rock.
I worked in several recording studios, but for the last 13 years I've run my own, under several names: "Casa Del Cha-Cha", "Aromatone Recording Company", "The Millennium Falcon" - when I move, I change the name (I just bought a house in Aug 07, gonna' be here for a LONG time) - currently "The Pub". I've also been doing consulting, design and setup of project studios across the US.
I got into digital photography and the editing of such about 9 years ago, when I bought my first digital camera.
I've tinkered with webdesign off and on for a long time but started getting really serious about it over the last 7 years.
I'm also trying to learn digital video filming and editing, but that's still in the "hobby" category, right now. However, you can see some of my experiments on the "Media/Videos" page.
I got into building / repairing computers out of pure necessity, not having much good help near when my own would be down. I ended up growing a love for that. I'm the guy all my nerdy friends call crying to when theirs are down. I take that as a compliment.
Right now, I'm trying to finish recording more new songs and move on to making videos for some of them as well as trying to promote myself, on and offline, in as many ways as I can find.
