We moved in Aug 10th, 07. I replaced carpet with laminate flooring and repainted the master bedroom. I began the garage "make-over" roughly 2 weeks after moving in.

Before (08-10-07):

Garage, complete with previous owners crap.

During:

Cleaned up, replaced door with a double wall.

Vocal booth/entry framed.

Studded the second wall layer out.

Insulated and drywalled.

"Cotton candy" anyone?

Framed drum room and installed sliding glass door.

Drum room covered with "ugly" partical board.

Lit w/cheap-ass shop lights.

Lit w/freshly installed track lighting ... Mmm, much better.

"Ugly" partical board covered with "non-ugly" veneer. Decorative/sound diffusing slats in place. Notice the new "clever" use of the cheap-ass shop lights.

Framed around breaker box. This now looks like an odd picture frame.

Pre-drywall in vocal booth/entry.

Peg-board for cables in place.

Wired dimmers for drum and control rooms.

Above-drum-room-storage-area being used for ... uh-oh ... you guessed it ... storage.

All the crapola I had to keep shuffling around as I worked.

Vocal booth/entry post-drywall.

Drum room primered/used for dust-free temp storage during mudding and taping.

Mudded and taped.

Final preps before painting and staining.

I like to call this next section "3 months and $3k later". I moved all the gear in about 2 weeks before, but was unable to finish decorating and post any pics right away due to illness, bad weather and destroying the radiator/grill/fender of my truck by hitting a friggin' deer.

Tentatively named "the Pub", due to my obsession with beers (and all the same that will be consumed here). I'll post the "official" name once I've finally set myself to one.

After (12-11-07):

Control room (still aka "Lab of Ill Repute")

Drum room (yeah, and you thought it was a big-ass fridge). Notice the continued "clever" use of the cheap-ass shop lights.

Blue screen corner/lounge-ish area. Awaiting the making of goofy puppet shows and other such nonsense.

Same thing, painfully lit.

The new-and-improved "Wall-O-Geetars". The breaker box is behind the "Black Kow" sign and Weezer lunch box.

Cable rack and vocal room (I still need to put the top on my lil' roof thingy over the door).

My fave amps on the planet.

My "happy spot".

My fave guitar.

Yes, that's "the Duke" there, ready to lend moral support to drummers in need.

And yes, that's Marilyn Monroe there, ready to lend some cleavage to drummers in need.

My "other happy spot".

I still need to drywall, paint and add some sound difusion to the vocal room, will do that over the next couple weeks ...
but aside from that, I'm all finished & open for biz ... byob, heh.
